Course Financial statement analysis

For large corporations, thorough financial analysis is essential for sound decision-making. This training equips you with the skills to assess balance sheet items, cash flows, equity, and liquidity, while linking a company’s business model to its revenue and key performance indicators (KPIs). You’ll learn to interpret both standalone and consolidated financial statements, understand the differences between commercial and tax reporting, and analyze risks and intercompany transactions within complex structures.

The course combines theory with practice through real-world case studies, ensuring immediate applicability. In preparation, you’ll complete the included E-learning Financial Statement Analysis via FOI’s platform, available for twelve months to support and enhance your learning journey.

Note: This is the English version of the "Jaarrekening Analyse complexe structuren" course. The entire course, including the e-learning, is delivered in English.

In this training, you’ll learn to analyze and connect the balance sheet and profit and loss statement to assess a company’s financial health. You’ll calculate and interpret key ratios, forecast performance using historical data, and evaluate liquidity through cashflow statements and forecasts.

Key objectives include:

• Providing expert opinions for decisions on lending, revisions, or participation
• Conducting cashflow analysis versus profitability
• Establishing relationships between cashflow and solvency, as well as cashflow and working capital
• Understanding the impact of revaluation and provisions for deferred tax on net income
• Evaluating fixed assets, economic age, and the implications of rent versus ownership

By the end, you'll be equipped to deliver sound financial analyses and strategic recommendations.
